Can I cover Mumbai, Surat, and Ahmedabad in a single textile sourcing trip?

Short answer

Yes. Mumbai, Surat, and Ahmedabad sit on the same Western Railway high-speed rail and NH-48 corridor. Using the Vande Bharat Express or Shatabdi Express, Mumbai to Surat takes about 2.5 to 3 hours, and Surat to Ahmedabad takes about 2 to 2.5 hours.

Many domestic and international buyers fly into Mumbai or Ahmedabad and cover all three hubs in a 6-to-7 day itinerary:

  • Days 1–2 (Mumbai): Source boutique fabrics in Kalbadevi (Mangaldas/Mohatta) on Saturday, and visit Dadar/Hindmata or Wadala Jeans Market on Sunday (when Kalbadevi is closed!).
  • Days 3–4 (Surat): Take an early morning train to Surat (2.5 hrs) and spend two days on Ring Road (Millennium, Raghukul, NTM, Rohit AC) for sarees and lehengas.
  • Days 5–6 (Ahmedabad): Take the evening train to Ahmedabad (2 hrs) and spend two days at New Cloth Market, Safal/Sumel Parks, and Gheekanta for cotton suits, kurtis, and denim.
