Indian buyers usually pay by bank transfer or UPI. International buyers pay by SWIFT bank transfer, or a letter of credit for large orders. Surat's traditional credit periods are generally offered only to established buyers.
Domestic trade in Surat has long run partly on credit between known parties, often managed through agents. As a new buyer, expect to pay in advance, either fully or with a deposit, until trust is built.
Always pay against a written proforma invoice listing products, quantities, prices and delivery dates. Be cautious of requests to pay into personal accounts unconnected to the business name on the invoice.
