Short answer
Surat railway station, on the main Mumbai–Ahmedabad–Delhi line, is about 5 km from the Ring Road markets, roughly 15–25 minutes by auto-rickshaw or cab. Surat also has an airport, and most international visitors arrive via Mumbai or Ahmedabad.
From Mumbai or Ahmedabad, Surat is roughly four to five hours by train or road. Inside the city, auto-rickshaws and app-based cabs know all the major markets by name, and city buses run along Ring Road. Belgium Square, opposite the Linear Bus Stand, is one of the closest textile addresses to the station.
Hotels around Ring Road, Athwa and Adajan are convenient bases. Expect heavy traffic on Ring Road from late morning into the evening.
