What does "Bilty Cut" (Documents Against Payment) mean when ordering from wholesale textile markets?

Short answer

Bilty Cut means the wholesaler dispatches your parcel through a registered road transporter and holds the original Lorry Receipt (LR/Bilty)—releasing it to you (or routing it through your bank) only after you transfer the invoice payment.

When a new outstation buyer places an order with a supplier in Surat, Ahmedabad, or Mumbai, "Bilty Cut" protects both sides:

  1. You pay a small booking token (10%–20%) so the seller packs the bale and books it at the transport office.
  2. The seller sends you a photo/copy of the Tax Invoice, E-Way Bill, and Transporter LR (Bilty) as proof of dispatch.
  3. Once the parcel reaches your city's transport godown, you transfer the balance 80%–90% via RTGS/NEFT, and the seller releases the original LR or issues a digital delivery authorization so you can collect the goods.
