Does Jaipuri Indigo and natural block-print fabric bleed colour on washing?

Short answer

Authentic natural Indigo and vegetable-dyed fabrics (especially from Bagru) can release excess surface dye during the first 1–2 cold washes, which is a natural characteristic of vat indigo. For zero-bleed commercial garments, ask your supplier for Procion (reactive) or mill-fixed prints.

When buying for retail customers, always ask the Sanganer or Bagru printer whether the lot is Natural/Indigo Dye (requires a "wash separately in cold water" care tag) or Fast Reactive/Procion Print (colour-fast for machine washing).
