Titles and descriptions

Write titles the way buyers search: colour + fabric + work + product + key detail, for example "Maroon Georgette Embroidered Saree with Blouse Piece". Then add a description with fabric, length, blouse piece, work, size and care.

Photos

  • Use true colours, several angles and a fabric close-up.
  • Save images in WebP: much smaller files than JPEG at similar quality, so pages load faster.
  • Add alt text that describes each image. It helps visually impaired shoppers and image search.

Catalogue structure

  • Give every item a unique SKU (stock-keeping unit) so stock, orders and returns stay matched.
  • Show colour or size variants on one product page, each with its own photo, rather than many near-identical pages.
  • Add a size chart and say whether it shows body or garment measurements.
  • When the same product appears at several URLs (filters, categories), a canonical tag tells search engines which URL is the main one.

Reach more buyers

Google Merchant Center lets you upload a product feed so your products can appear in Google's Shopping results, including free listings.

Trust

  • Show only genuine reviews. Fake reviews mislead buyers and break consumer-protection rules and platform policies.
  • Publish a clear return, refund and exchange policy. India's Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 require sellers to give this information.
